Cooperative Learning is one of the most important learning strategies in teaching 21st century skills. This lesson is a cooperative learning lesson that is specifically designed for an online course. The main goal of the lesson is to provide students with a greater understanding of the benefits of cooperative learning.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Explain the five essential elements of a cooperative learning experience.
  2. Demonstrate cooperative learning techniques during a group activity.
  3. Evaluate the cooperative learning techniques used during a group activity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  1. This week's assignments require group participation.
  2. Each group will have a designated discussion board thread.
  3. Each group will have a designated website with further instructions (links are listed below and within your designated thread).
  4. Each group will be responsible for working together throughout the week, therefore it is important to connect as soon as possible.

There are three parts to this week's lesson. However, be sure to note that Part 2 consists of three phases. Complete instructions will be provided on each group website.
